A: Via email. Your mark will be displayed next to your student number.

Q: Will advanced programme maths be beneficial in preparing me for university?
A: Definitely. The main purpose of the AdMaths course is to prepare school learners more adequately for their university education and related career by bridging the gap between the school maths curriculum and the difficulty level of university maths.
Q: Can I quit any time during the course?
A: Should your circumstances change drastically and force you to quit, a notice of resignation must be submitted before the beginning of a new school term. This must however in no way be seen as a backdoor for quitting when you´re not coping - make sure you know what is expected of you before you enroll.

Q: Is my school calculator sufficient?
A: Yes, but the Casio fx-991ES is highly recommended.
Q: Are all advanced programme maths subject categories compulsory?
A: Calculus and algebra are compulsory. Finance and mathematical modeling is optional.
Q: What requirements do I need to fulfill to move onto the next year?
A: Your mark must be at least 40%.
Q: How will I be tested?
A: You will have one formal assessment every term. In March and September, you will write a one hour test; in June and November, a two hour exam. These tests and exams are supervised by your school. You´ll also have to complete one tutorial per term, submitted to us via fax/email.
Q: How does the course material differ from the text book?
A: The AdMaths course material consists of elaborate notes and examples of the work covered. You will only refer to the textbook, which is compulsory to purchase, when the notes require you to.
Q: How do I obtain the course material?
A: Lessons are downloaded from the AdMaths website in PDF format and are available in Afrikaans and English.
Q: How much time will I need to successfully complete the AdMaths course?
A: Approximately three hours per week.
Q: Can I take advanced programme maths as an optional subject?
A: No. It´s not part of the National Curriculum, but an extra subject presented by the Independent Examination Board.
Q: What percentage should I get in maths to be a good AdMaths candidate?
A: Preferably 80% and higher. (Please note: This only applies to maths, not math literacy.)
